Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher
@repfletcher.bsky.social
Honored and proud to represent Texas' 7th Congressional District in Houston, where inclusion, innovation, and collaboration thrive. #TX07
We are in a cost of living crisis, and President Trump and Republicans are making life more – not less – expensive. Since Donald Trump took office, the average family in Texas has paid $339 in higher prices that are fueled by his policies.

I joined @mcbride.house.gov and @repmarktakano.bsky.social in a letter to Speaker Johnson condemning the rise in anti-transgender rhetoric and urging him to uphold the rules of decorum as Members engage in debate. There is no place for the use of slurs or harmful rhetoric in the People's House.

Public servants—from soldiers to senators—swear an oath to the United States Constitution. President Trump's post calling for political violence against Democratic members of Congress who have reminded people of that fact is not merely irresponsible and indefensible, it is dangerous.

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, let us commit ourselves to giving every American the freedom, safety, and dignity that they deserve.

@energycommerce.bsky.social held a hearing on the risks of A.I. chatbots, but just a few months ago, Republicans on our committee--and the full House--voted to prevent states from passing laws to protect their citizens from these very threats FOR 10 YEARS.

The devastating floods in the Hill Country brought heartbreak and loss to communities throughout Texas, especially in our district in Houston. While there is still much to be done to recover, today the House passed a resolution to honor the victims and those who risked their lives to help them.

Today is the 225th anniversary of the first meeting of the House at the U.S. Capitol.

While much has changed since then, the purpose of our work in these hallowed halls remains the same—as President Lincoln later said almost to the day—a government of, by, and #ForThePeople.

Nearly a million people in #TX18 have been without representation in Congress for most of this year.

Glad to join my colleagues from Texas in urging Governor Abbott to set the runoff election date as soon as possible.

According to the Tax Foundation, President Trump's tariffs have increased taxes on American families, and it's only getting worse next year.

In Houston, we love our restaurants and we want them to thrive. But under President Trump's trade and immigration policies, they're struggling.

Because our state rejected Medicaid expansion, 4 million Texans are enrolled in ACA health care. Now, it's about to be 35% more expensive.

Trump's demolition of the East Wing of the White House to build a gilded ballroom is not only an admission of his failed priorities but a powerful illustration of how this unchecked and unaccountable administration is creating lasting damage to American institutions. I joined a letter opposing it ⬇️

Glad to talk with KRLD's Barbara Schwarz about my efforts to continue funding for food assistance into November. President Trump and Republicans must stop using hunger as a weapon, and instead come to the table and work with us to reopen the government and solve the health care crisis.

President Trump just fired 49 of the 50 employees who run the Title X family planning program. Along with @chu.house.gov, @titus.house.gov, and @davids.house.gov, I sent a letter urging Secretary Kennedy to reinstate this program that helps millions of Americans.
