Two new bills to increase penalties for repeated violations of Protection from Abuse (PFA) orders and heightened severity for criminal acts committed while violating a PFA. These measures aim to strengthen accountability for abusers and empower survivors.

I recently addressed UPMC’s graduates of Freedom House Foundations. The program provides the foundational knowledge for graduates to become a medical assistant, patient technician, or community health worker. UPMC has graduated over 150 students. Their efforts reflect highly on our community.

The Pennsylvania Capitol is hiring a tour guide! The Capitol Tour Guides are the ambassadors of our state Capitol. This is a full-time position with benefits. Starting salary is $40,100.

The application period for PA's Student Teacher Stipend Program opens tomorrow afternoon. You may recall that last year the funding was used up an hour after the application period opened. The program is first-come, first served.

Yesterday was a truly fulfilling day in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.! I started the Central PA MLK Day of Service board, then joined the Whitaker Center for their inspiring Day of Reading. Then spent afternoon cleaning up the Fredricksen Library in Camp Hill with some wonderful constituents.
