I'm always proud to support working Pennsylvanians! The state budget that I voted for includes the creation of the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit, which will put money back in the pockets of many neighbors and families in our community.

After many months of negotiating, we finally have a state budget. I voted in favor of this budget that provides some important wins for our community, including investments in our kids, working families, seniors, community safety, and more.

Between advocating for my juvenile justice bill in a committee hearing, standing with Pennsylvania immigrants, speaking with children, supporting Black maternal health, and working to end the state budget impasse, it was a very productive week in Harrisburg.

This morning, I had the awesome opportunity to visit the OCCCDA food bank. During this time where many neighbors are losing SNAP benefits, OCCCDA is doing crucial work to connect families in need with nutritious food and critical resources.

Over the last few years, Philadelphia has made tremendous progress to curb gun violence in our city. However, the current state budget impasse could threaten that progress and the safety of our communities.
As a result of the federal government shutdown, applications for LIHEAP will open on December 3, one month after they were initially supposed to open. This delay will leave more than 300,000 Pennsylvanians without heat during November. www.pa.gov/agencies/dhs...

Due to the shutdown of the federal government, November’s SNAP food aid benefit funding will not be arriving from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The federal government, which is controlled by Republicans at all levels, are harming millions of Americans with their irresponsible policies.

I recently toured the Lawndale PennDOT on Levick to meet with agency leadership and frontline staff. During our visit, we discussed ongoing challenges such as long lines related to Real ID processing, facility maintenance needs, and workplace concerns raised by employees.
