One of my snakes took a shit so incredibly rancid that I could smell it through the enclosure, opened the door & jerked back when it hit my senses full blast, & was convinced he had to be dead. He was not and was not amused that I poked him to check, then I finally saw the monstrous shit he took.

I always greet my birds by either shouting "what's up, assholes?" or singing "hey birds" to the tune of Hey Jude. There is no middle ground. Surprisingly no one has picked either up, though Ripley occasionally goes "motherFUCKER" while mauling his toys when he's in a bad mood, and that's my fault.

My spouse & I got on the topic of stampedes & how they generally involve only hoofstock or humans. I started imagining what various non-hoofstock stampedes would be like. I've concluded that a bear stampede, while conceptually terrifying, would also be cute as hell because aw look at all the bears.

Today I got frustrated with a kinked hose, and because the upset wasn't REALLY about the situation at hand, I had a big ol' come-apart, battled the hose, was roundly defeated, and got a whole lot of pig shit water all over me. Then I de-stressed by giving pigs treats and belly rubs.

I have spent my entire life fighting an ailing body and troubled mind for survival, and NGL I'm kinda pissed that the future I struggled so hard to have is *this.* Like wow damn that was not worth it at all.

As someone who has worked for companies with DEI training, I can confirm that it is just a how-to guide for showing the bare minimum of respect in the workplace, which is apparently something people specifically need to be told to do because we are just that disappointing as a culture. 🙃

Someone in one of my groups suggested that racism in the animal rescue community is strictly a conservative phenomenon. I have been in rescue for over 20 years & I can confidently assure you it is not. Racism & xenophobia transcend party because it is woven into the very fabric of American culture.
