So working on getting a company set up. Save and load is on hold. Pivoting to animations and completing levels 2 and three. Aiming to have a rough demo in early 2026, working title, "NodeN.S." a isometric pixel hacking game with arcane elements.

Oof, I need to get better about posting. Especially since this was supposed to be for that. Good news, I can see the end of the refactoring hole I dug for myself. The save/load system is almost all set, hoping by the end of the week it'll be done. And hopefully soon, a website too.

It's really hard to implement this feature. I have to constantly run checks and that'll impact performance. If I don't this will increase during the battle phase..... and that could maybe make gameplay more interesing..... every bug is a feature.

It can be hard looking at all the code still needing to be written. Easy to just put it off until the perfect mood. Worse when your mind has a clear vision of what the end will look like, and your ADHD says "see we're basically done"

8 bit art assests are not an area I have a lot of skill in, and getting those assets made would really help me focus on the game logic and programming. However, I'd want to pay a fair rate, and have no idea how commercial liscenes work. Anyone want to weigh in?

Something special about pulling off an emotional gut punch at the end of a game session. Checking everything to make sure it works, building tension, and then letting it out and suddenly reversing it.

So a fun exercise I do from time to time, is while watching a show or something, I try to break down how would that play out in an rpg. What is cinematic or mechanical, what system represents or supports this best. Doesn't have to be combat either, exploration, research, any challenge really.

I have had to spend an increasing amount of time focusing on how to code. I know how to, rather, how to track bugs and focus on specific issues. As my game's complexity grows, I've found I need bigger blocks of time and better documentation.

Yeah, it would make sense to split this class off into it's own module. That'll be easy, and won't take hours to patch and fix. Ugh....Just remember it'll make future updates easier.

One thing that I know I'm going to have to come back to but isn't pressing is that I have minor inconsistent UI elements to my game. That's one of those things that will be easy to fix, but be one of the last things cause so far it's just me testing.
