Semi-related, I think projects that make old games run in higher framerates like those fan made PC ports of N64 games look really weird and uncomfortable. I'm sure they feel really good but I'd rather have the animations running at the original framerate

Watching challenge runs of old games but the footage is stretched to 16:9 😞

I'm not sure if HD UI texture packs make it better (feels like they're consciously trying to update the game's look) or worse (they usually look pretty bad to me)

Same with permanently-missable content tbh. I'm definitely not immune to feeling like I have to see everything in one playthrough, but keeping away from the guide always leaves me feeling better about my initial experience, and leads to a neat "oh cool, I didn't know about that" later

Inconvenience is not inherently bad game design and I'm going to keep repeating that until people listen!

Damn, I bought Heretic on sale for like $3 back in December and now I have like 5 times the stuff, completely for free. It's honestly still shocking every time it happens.

It's shockingly replayable. I don't think it's anywhere near the best in the series, but it's so fun seeing what different team compositions are like
