I think it's worth mentioning that this was posted in September 2015, and is based on some apparently wrong assumptions about how that data works (details in the description on Flickr). NASA themselves have published a true color version of that same data in 2018: pluto.jhuapl.edu/Galleries/Fe...

Read "2025 RN4" for "2024 RN4".

Good thing you're not in a Hollywood movie set on Mars! That storm would have blown you off the street otherwise. 🌬️

Mashchenko does not - and cannot - distinguish between a "disc" and a "cigar" shape. The disc shape is more likely though, but there's nothing to rule out the other one.

Nice! You say there's no drama in Christopher Zeeman's election certificate... There might be. At 39:37, you show his election certificate, which says he was born in Yokohama on 4 February 1926. I think that's not true (he was born in 1925), but I wonder if there's something strange going on here.

Sounds like I need to get my hands on Winchester's book.

A fascinating story, yes! I haven't read the particular book you're showing, but I may check it out.
My favorite book about it remains the 1888 report of the "Krakatoa committee". It compiles lots of data from all around the world -- and it's available for free: www.google.com/books/editio...

It's not official (and isn't intended to be). These are just nicknames, which are replaced by the official ones when the object is named. See Didymoon, for example, which became "Dimorphos" upon its official naming.
