A driver has the tyre temporarily fitted and a .010” wire trapped between the tyre and the plastic centre. The other end of the wire passes into the axle hole.

1120 lifts number 44 out of Golden Lake window sill staging yard. I don’t often run with the headlight on, because it wasn’t required in daytime in 1905, but it was pretty dark!

Percy’s chassis partially assembled with a slip of paper in the mesh. The keeper plate doesn’t seat properly as a result.

4-4-0 1120 is about to back through the stock pen turnout. It will derail when it gets to all those PC board ties at the frog.

I installed yesterday's turnout control and test fitted Percy's gears. #hobbystreak 12

Half a locomotive drive casing, exposing the motor with planetary gear head feeding an 18-tooth spur gear that meshes with a 26-tooth gear on a lay shaft that passes back beneath the motor through a massive brass bearing to a steel worm that is bigger than the motor. That meshes in turn with a brass worm gear.
