Was aktuell auf dem Spiel steht, sind nicht etwa innerlinke Widersprüche, sondern nichts weniger als die regelbasierte Weltordnung. Mit dem Rückzug der USA als Hegemon der Welt stellt sich die Frage, ob der UN-Sicherheitsrat ad absurdum geführt wird. Haben wir es mit dem Ende der Geschichte zu tun?

Als Feind war sie eine nützliche Projektionsfläche, als Garant von Stabilität und Sicherheit wurde sie höchstens argwöhnisch geduldet. „Ohne Frieden ist alles nichts“, doch auch Willy Brandt setzte gleichzeitig auf genau diese militärische Abschreckung.

Th plane allegedly carrying Assad dropped from an altitude of over 3,650 meters to 1,070 in minutes, just outside Lebanese airspace north of Akkar. Reportedly Lebanon denied the plane permission to land. Rumours are rife, no confirmation if that was his plane or the fate of those onboard.
