I’ve been waiting for the Idiocracy references since January

So, in each case, the DJAG (another general officer JAG who serves as TJAGs deputy) took over the duties of their branch’s TJAG until TJAGs are replaced. No rank and file JAGs got the boot.

Just the TJAGs. Each branch has a TJAG who is a General Officer in charge of their branch’s JAG Corps, each with thousands of active duty JAGs.

Still is. The rules only apply in one direction since January.

They are obligated to disobey unlawful orders. The problem is, a lot of these junior enlisted soldiers and marines are are ignorant as to what constitutes a lawful or unlawful order. They aren’t attorneys and the JAGs aren’t giving briefings about this particular scenario.

It’s not that they “can” refuse unlawful orders, they are legally required to refuse unlawful orders. That’s the oath. Act on an unlawful order and hold your breath for the rest of you life hoping the other party doesn’t take the controls back and put you in military prison.
