These may be shitty dwellings but this is a luxury compared to the slums.

Besides, the private development that will come from the freed up space will help pay for the government dwellings.

I agree that the slums are an eyesore and that they need to be demolished for safety reasons, but the people who live there need proper housing in the same areas rather than relocating them to far away provinces. We need the same council flats Dublin built half a century ago.
