Reptile survey mats have been placed on Hackney Marshes. These will be used in an ongoing survey with LARG the main species that we will be on the lookout for is the Grass snake, but these mats will also be useful to monitor small mammals after the long term recovery project led by ReNature.

With the successful recovery of small mammal species on Hackney Marshes predators have returned, including Kestrels, so we’ve put a kestrel box on a large standing log pile.

This photo won’t win any awards, but it’s great to see a couple of Common Frogs in the pond garden on London Fields. Another species that’s here thanks to the biodiversity project.
