Because governments subsidise oil due to lobbying by oil companies. Renewables like solar and wind would be much more widely adopted by now if it weren't for that.

Also, in my job I'm usually not answering emails when I'm absolutely in the *trenches* working and don't have the time to respond to some inane middle manager. When I'm doing sweet fuck all is when emails can be a priority.
