ya, I felt middle class too bc I was the 2nd in line for hand-me-downs but in these rural parts a lot of people have houses bc they are dirt cheap or bc your family has lived in them for generations already. But most would need substantial work done before middle class people even consider them lol

My mom still has my grandma's recipe book. Her famous Vanillekipfel (a type of German cookies) were cut from a magazine probably from the 60s-70s. at least 1/2 of the recipes are the same lol
