Oh, forgot to post about the parcels I had to delay because they were scheduled for the one day I was out. The 2026 Quiet Places calendar collecting a load of beautiful images by @djamilaknopf.bsky.social and the larger of @lalasdreambox.bsky.social book bag designs with her gorgeous art wrapping.

By contrast, here is a clip from the DJ/support/?? bloke, who made full use of the available lights!

Last clip of Autechre, i note bsky compressing, so hopefully the sound still leaves an impression. #autechre 🎶🎧

Another clip from last night's Autechre gig at SWG3. You can get some sense of the intensity of the experience. #autechre 🎶🎧

Autechre live at SWG3 last night. Yes, they played in darkness. A solid hour and a half of constant sound. It was overwhelming/disorientating. #autechre 🎶🎧

Look what I've got for breakfast! New novel by @lukebelcourt.com - been looking forward to this, probably just as well it didn't download at midnight when I checked in! 💙📚 #booksky

I made a start on Olga Tokarczuk's The Empusium and am a chapter or so in. Having finished one @lunapress.bsky.social I decided to pick another up from the pile, so I'm half way through CL Farley's The Invisible Girl. #booksky 💙📚

Stayed up late, got up late. Started day with porridge and a pot of Russian Caravan. A fresh pack, bought in Edinburgh's Rosevear, tipped into caddy from Mariage Freres in Paris. Don't usually make a full pot, but clock change Sunday, dreich October and an excuse to use tea pot bought in Bruges.

After reading book 1 last night I'm going to hit book 2. As the title says "something is killing the children," and those monsters in book 1 certainly had a high body count!

They come in slipcase as well. House of Slaughter: Butcher Trilogy most recent release in white sleeve. Two SIKTC so far.
October 17, 2025 at 6:06 PM
Was thinking about going out. But I've decided I'm going to sit and read the 1st Something is Killing the Children omnibus. I've read the material in ebook form before, but not all together in physical form. #SIKTC

And the man himself, good to see him back in Glasgow last night @warringtonruncorn.com - i don't think this video captures the full range of the sound, I was conscious of much more at the time. Been so long since I was last in Sleazy's but a great night for a return to the old dive. 🎶🎧
October 17, 2025 at 12:34 PM
Oops thought that was the video rather than photie. Here we go again. @kinbraemusic.bsky.social at Sleazy's supporting @warringtonruncorn.com in Glasgow.
October 17, 2025 at 12:26 PM
Well that worked, so here is a clip from @kinbraemusic.bsky.social - towards end of their set supporting @warringtonruncorn.com in Sleazy's last night. 🎧🎶

Not tried uploading a video here before, let's give it a go, Isa Gordon opening for @warringtonruncorn.com in Glasgow's Nice n Sleazy. She did a weird blend of very Scottish folk electronica, dropping Sabbath's War Pigs into the mix. 🎶🎧

New exhibition opening tomorrow in London I believe Damien Hirst, Invader and Shepard Fairey. I love this piece of art that shows their faces!

I may not enjoy being in the office in person, but at least I have protection in place in the form of these @junkomizuno.bsky.social nurses.

Veiled Valley's "Something Is Now With Us" is a ghost album. The whole hazy, muffled sound feels like a haunting. But also it's an album that appears to have vanished from bandcamp (I'm sure I discovered this last time I tried to share), but a google finds results for a tourist destination instead.
