i'm backing up files to an external hd which means procrastinating and getting distracted by going thru all my old sketches... seeing OCs i had completely forgotten about... these two were from 2023, i might come back to them 🤔

tbh i never sketched like this before this piece but it was very helpful in putting down general shapes! i think the only parts i "sketched" proper was the actual SJ/SY figures, tho the background got a slightly more refine shapes before i did lineart

bit of a wip bc i redrew the sketch+lines entirely from scratch twice before settling on this. its completely different vibes from the first sketch but o well. i can always come back to my initial idea another time, i just rly wanted to work on finishing something!! 😭

i did have him in robes in my initial sketches, but it felt cluttered; i wanted the silhouette tho, so i went with frills/patterns to mimic the effect of sleeves & collar

this so took gd long. i had a story idea to go with it but i am tired, i am not writing that now. here's a closer crop bc i really like how it turned out in the end
