I was very sorry when I heard she had passed--not the first person I knew in fandom who was taken by cancer. The Queen of Gondal will never be finished now.

It doesn't seem like a terrible analogy to me: Children and pets are both dependents! The difference is that your toddler will hopefully mature and your parrot will be a toddler forever *g*

I tried to read that book and couldn't get through it, but I'm not sure why. It certainly is a well-written m/m romance; it just didn't hold me till the end.
