I have no particular feelings about Stewart as an actress, but I have become very respectful of her as a person, for the way she has flouted everyone's expectations of her.

I was very sorry when I heard she had passed--not the first person I knew in fandom who was taken by cancer. The Queen of Gondal will never be finished now.

Legionseagle of LJ/DW fame, writer of fanfic? Yeah, I imagine Joy would just stand there laughing while she gave Jack what for.

My heart is breaking with you, honey. I hope you both hang in there.

I did not realize Bruce was that old! I guess I shouldn't be surprised; he *is* a parrot, despite his small size.

I would have insisted on a sword, girl or no. Jack might not have liked that. *g*

Are you. making this up.

(No, you couldn't. Life is always weirder than fiction *g*)

How do you stand it??

I tend to think he's talking rubbish when he talks about women, sex, and marriage--and I know what you mean, because I love Lewis anyway.

I am so relieved! I will help more if I can, and definitely keep praying.

I have inadvertently offended people by pointing out the similarities between child behavior and bird behavior. But the child is going to change, I know that! It's funny because it's temporary.

At least some of us understood even then that Susan had succumbed to conformity (the World) rather than becoming a slut (the Flesh).

As for Gaiman, he's the Devil in that triad.

It doesn't seem like a terrible analogy to me: Children and pets are both dependents! The difference is that your toddler will hopefully mature and your parrot will be a toddler forever *g*

Complaining that your well is... abundant? lol

I have an acquaintance who is both a mom and a pet owner who gets really worked up when people refer to their pets as children. Like, really.

Sometimes my bird is my child, sometimes he's my significant other. "rembrandtswife" refers to my tiel who died in 2021.

You know, I have read (and written) a lot of fanfic... and that there might be the worst fanfic I've ever read

Good CD, improving a Star Trek! Trekkie birb!

I wanted to like it and might give it another try. Heaven knows I read enough Merthur back in the day *g*

I tried to read that book and couldn't get through it, but I'm not sure why. It certainly is a well-written m/m romance; it just didn't hold me till the end.
