Correct, however, for anyone who isn't straight, white, male, and mildly wealthy or better, the US is absolutely not a civilised country; in fact, for people who tick zero of those boxes, you're better off living in a third world country. If nothing else, a third world country is honest about it

Buy a cheap burner phone, the cheapest you can find that has recording capabilities, and don't let it connect to the internet for any reason, nor buy a SIM card for it. I don't know about the US but here in Australia you can buy phones like that for $20 at most supermarkets.

Same thing can be said for Civ 5 and Beyond Earth tbh. Base Civ 5 and at-launch BE are nowhere near as good as they are with patches and expansions (tho BE still has the issue of "it's BE")
