Reference I used for this particular material comes from the old animated movie Sleeping Beauty (1959). This particular bark lights up marvelously once the Prince shows up, I had to try and recreate it in Substance Designer. ✨🌳

Ive recently discovered it and it works more precise and you fight less w the tools. It also has the quadremesher function (add-on) which is a lifesavior for lowtopo 😊 It costs (the app) 23 euros - blender is an amazing gateway, but it definitely misses features. Love the work so far,horses are HARD

As a primary blender sculptor - if you ever want more intuitive tools and easier experience overall sculpting, try nomad sculpt (for ipad)! Its usage is absolutely phenomenal and tools like crease, flatten, and clay strips behave much smoother and more towards what youd expect compared to blender -

Definitely love them both, but its so relatable to like the sketch more haha - for me the color really makes them pop!
