Cardiacs - On Land and In The Sea

Cardiacs is my favourite band. They were my light in the dark. Their sound hits me in colors, and they use the whole spectrum. It’s pop music, but it includes psychedelic, punk, grand anthems. 10/10 album? Maybe not. 10/10 band.

The God Machine - Scenes from the Second Storey

Loud growling guitars. A drummer pounding the drumset to splinters. It’s big and epic, and takes it’s sweet time. Released in the early 90s it got lost between the grunge, noise rock and shoegaze. But it’s a great record. One that I revisit a lot.

I have that partially dislocate my shoulders thing as well. 😱
Used to be able to touch my left earlobe with my left hand, and the right one with right hand.
But by wrapping my arm over my head like the photo but then reaching under my chin and touching the earlobe.
Freaked people out all the time.

Still really like this one.

I got a artist proof Magic the Gathering card. It wasn’t something that was on my radar, but when the drummer of one my favourite bands did art for the special guest Whir of Invention, I had to get one. Ps. the band is called Lightning Bolt.

With the unveiling of the special guest cards for the new #MtG set Aetherdrift came the news that Brian Chippendale, of the band Lightning Bolt, did the art for Whirr of Invention. Because of this their music is now on loop in my head. Thanks MTG

My First Commander

During Dominaria drafts and the EDH deck i made with Slimefoot i would always sing “Sap-Ro-Ling, Sap-Ro-Ling, Sap-Ro-Ling” based on King Gizzard’s song “Rattlesnake”. So much so that when Slimefoot pops up like during Time Spiral remastered and Commander Masters other people also sing it.

I have probably gone through multiple favourites throughout the year. Knocked Loose was certainly one. Blood Incantation’s latest album.

But i think “Cool World” by Chat Pile dominated my headphones for weeks on end. Nothing pretty, very brutal. Takes hints from Helmet and Jesus Lizard.

The anime adaptation of Uzumaki might be disappointing, but the record for the Colin Stetson soundtrack is not.
