The ML: Okay, the red flags are there, but hear me out. This guy appears to be a deranged alien who's in love with the FL. He has no concept of human morality, and he's having a great time with whatever this farce is. I'm not saying it's ethically supportable, but, like. It's charming.

This is categorized as 'Romance' in Manta's app, which is definitely interesting, considering how hard they're leaning into horror/comedy. The female lead has woken up in the hospital and is told that a man is her husband, but when she looks at him, she sees a head full of tentacles.

A solid art style and reliable sense of human anatomy and posing. This one is nice to look at, and the color toning is strong throughout. Visually, this is a very pleasant comic to read, and it's nice to see a coloring team that has a basic grasp of how to color hair.

The mood of this story is probably the thing that was the most interesting to me. It's very much trying to be a dark fairly tale (with adult content thrown in), and I was interested in how that was represented in the storytelling.

The ML: He isn't a character I'd find hot, but I don't mind the concept that he's a literal monster, and therefore is kinda evil at all times. They're leaning into it; he's meant to be creepy and scary, so that part's not an issue for me. I'm just not into MLs who manipulate the (cont.)

Here's where this one isn't my cup of tea. There's sort of a fairytale, Beauty and the Beast-esque premise underpinning this comic -- but the execution is heavy-handed and not compelling, for me. Story beats happen quickly and pay off without enough suspense, and characters largely (cont.)

Probably the strongest element of the series for me. The art style is largely pretty. The characters are expressive and distinct from each other. There are some panels where the anatomy isn't consistent, but the artist seems to work hard to execute visually on the premise of the story.
