I just don't vibe with the shift this year into using that greige tone in all their clothing. From a visual standpoint, because it's extremely muted, while all the other colors are highly saturated, I don't like how dissonant the color schemes are. I think I'm just out of touch with modern style. :)

The FL: I think, right now, she's the weak point for me. I don't take issue with her going along with the diagnosis that this is all in her head because of her injury - it's the sane, Occam's Razor explanation for this - but there are times when she's TOO unquestioning of her husband's (cont.)

The ML: Okay, the red flags are there, but hear me out. This guy appears to be a deranged alien who's in love with the FL. He has no concept of human morality, and he's having a great time with whatever this farce is. I'm not saying it's ethically supportable, but, like. It's charming.

Currently, the FL has been told that the reason she's seeing her husband with a tentacle head - instead of the ridiculously hot guy everyone else sees - is because she's suffering from Capgras Syndrome after her accident, which is expected to be temporary. She's doing her best to go along with it.

It very effectively tilts between being comedic and deeply unsettling -- what's presented as light-hearted is twinned with dark undertones every time the husband says something that vaguely sounds like he might be an actual alien monster no one else can recognize.

A solid art style and reliable sense of human anatomy and posing. This one is nice to look at, and the color toning is strong throughout. Visually, this is a very pleasant comic to read, and it's nice to see a coloring team that has a basic grasp of how to color hair.

My favorite fun visual detail are the FL's red shoes. There's no indication this is a plot element, so it seems to instead be more of an Easter egg nod to another fairy tale, The Red Shoes.

siblings about the cursed manor and its inhabitants. I loved the mysterious rituals and customs surrounding the house, which won't be explained until after the FL runs afoul of them. I loved the creepy snake-faced butler, a decidedly fun contrast to Disney's cheerful anthropomorphized silverware.

A high point of the artwork are the characters' hands -- whenever they're prominently shown on-screen, they're lovingly drawn and really nice to look at! I really can't fault the hands.
