yup, once the tech matures like what valve has done with proton,
this basically opens up a lot of new possibilities for ARM
November 12, 2025 at 9:29 PM
kinda yes? though AMD with SteamOS is a completely different story and that's because mainly AMD just simply works with linux lol

while nvidia likes being cringe with linux in general
November 12, 2025 at 9:26 PM
also wanted to add that this is one of the most actual exciting tech news in a VERY LONG while with how many garbage slop-tech news/development out there for a few years now

now with valve's involvement with FEX's development, a translation layer for ARM linux devices to run x86 apps, then run/emulate proton with it on an ARM version of SteamOS like what was shown with the steam frame = ARM linux gaming
November 12, 2025 at 9:12 PM
these are normally in x86 systems which is pretty much the standard for most people's systems while ARM is in a different architecture of itself

before this, afaik it's either difficult or even impossible to run most x86 programs to any ARM devices (imagine google chromebooks) (cont.)
November 12, 2025 at 9:12 PM
its mainly a compatibility layer for linux (and macos too) to run windows programs/games, additionally proton is steam's version/addition to wine to run games that wouldn't normally run in linux systems

since i run on linux, i can pretty much run all of the games i play that weren't made for the os

valve does what windon'ts

just want to make that cheesy joke lol
November 12, 2025 at 8:50 PM
prob within half a decade we'll see more gaming ARM devices or even for non-gaming that's just capable of running majority of the x86 games/programs, from gaming handhelds, consoles, laptops or even mobile phones once this matures

valve does something and its
November 12, 2025 at 8:50 PM
the steam frame is already pretty cool meaning valve's been cooking on VR in linux, but it being a standalone with an ARM version of steamos is like really really really crazy

and im glad im not alone realizing this after looking up threads about it cause this opens up a LOT for future gaming/tech
November 12, 2025 at 8:50 PM
havent done these in a hot minute
November 6, 2025 at 4:32 PM
my brain can only take a framework at a time lol
ill take a look into it in the future if i ever do a new project since i think i have enough for my current use-case
November 4, 2025 at 7:14 AM
implementing a ssg into this made writing blogs a lot easier now lol
November 3, 2025 at 8:00 AM
it seems like it's possible though im not sure how the implementation would work yet for an image-only feed in the readers
November 1, 2025 at 9:30 AM
fun fact the embed link is a .gif
October 29, 2025 at 1:50 AM
i just happen to have prepared for that
October 26, 2025 at 7:17 PM
