I suggest trying a small one first. NNN nesoberi take up little space, usually are not expensive, and can be found easily. A gentle wash every now and then is enough if you bring them around.
A sitting plush can do as well. On my work desk, the boxy "Graphig" Umi plush is a valuable support.

I don't understand how many players are able to train UA and US characters in the latest scenario. Perhaps there's something I don't get (e.g. the excavation order), or it's just the support cards?
Anyway it doesn't matter, as I'll be fielding those two in the next CM.
