Just for fun, name two completely unrelated movies that share the same director.

So think of these guys if it helps:

Ah, so sorry you didn't see any. They are such impressive birds! Greetings from one of the pair that is nesting on my block, who greeted me when I went to get the mail :-)

NO CHEATING your last saved celebrity picture is your therapist, so who is it? Quote yours:

(As I try to interpret the quote "God peed" for my life.)

This was the smaller bull, with most of the others obscured in the shrubs to the right.

Post a perfect album from when you were 21

Maybe the author was incorrectly using "honeybees" to mean "nice bees that we like"? But look at this beautiful native bee I snapped in a Colorado neighborhood front yard - what's not to love?

Have been traveling fou the last several days, and too busy collecting photos of nature to post them! But for another celestial nature friend - the sun and the moon in the full annular eclipse seen from the Four Corners. Couldn't get good pics on my phone, but got cool sun shapes in the shadows.

Today's nature friend is from the archives again - was able to get out a little today as I recover, but not far. But I saw this tall fellow, a 6-7 foot tall great mullein, while walking near local ponds this summer.

Have been kept inside recently with a recurrence of illness. But enjoy this hoary tansyaster that I encountered on Tuesday. I thought, "Isn't it a little late in the year for you to be blooming so much?" But I guess that's just how these guys roll.

Nature friend of the day: Local bald eagle was at the nearby lake favored by the pelicans today! So, as a treat, you can get a slightly improved photo - instead of a tiny dark speck with an even tinier white speck, a dark blob with a white speck! He's to the left of the tan pillar, on the ground.

Today's nature friend is the result of a moment today where I looked anew at a plant and went "Wait, what?"

Specifically, this is a roughly 7-foot-tall stand of Ravenna grass, not native and usually only seen as an accent on fancy lawns. What exactly is it doing in a roadside drainage ditch?

Nature friend of the day: this blue jay decided to show off his pretty wings to a nearby trail cam. (Fun fact: they are in the corvid family, like crows, ravens, and magpies.)
October 2, 2023 at 4:24 AM
Since my attempt at sharing the sight of the bald eagle I saw today resulting in effectively just a sky photo, have some extra nature friends from an earlier errand in a different part of town - prairie dogs busily chonking up for the winter.

So, I have a couple of candidates for nature friend of the day, from having been able to get out to the park. The most impressive one was not conducive to good pics from a phone. I took a rest on the bench swing, looked up, and OHSHITBALDEAGLE

For the first time in 3 days, was able to get out of the house during the day! Drove around! Went to the park! Had adventures! But - apparently, between last Wednesday and today, fall happened?
