Even so, knowing your rights can help defend yourself from the criminal punishment system. REMEMBER THESE KEY PHRASES TO INVOKE (ASSERT) YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS: "I WILL NOT TALK. I WANT MY LAWYER." This phrase invokes your right against self-incrimination and your right to counsel. If you're in custody, the state can't use "involuntary" statements against you - the police can't "compel" you to speak. What they can use is voluntary statements. Where should I invoke my rights? Anywhere you're interacting with police (not just at police stations). What happens after I invoke my rights? Remain silent. Don't talk 1. "Am I free to go?" to police. I think when we talk about police propaganda- we should not forget events like these. These events lure people & especially young people into a false narrative.

It’s pretty much rained all week, so tarps are a high demand right now for unhoused residents. I’ll be dropping these off this weekend before the big distribution at the end of the month.
