🗃️ Whelp folks, todays the day. Suppose this is our life for the next 4 years. If it helps at all, I will start off the next shitty 4 years providing a quote from Ursula K. Le Guin. If anyone knows who the creator of the image is, lmk so I can give them proper credit. #history

🗃️ If anyone going to NCUR 2025 owns pearls, I suggest bringing them because there will be a good bit of pearl clutching involved at my presentation. #history

🗃️ #History for today: in 1587 the English attempted to establish their first colony in the new world, at Roanoke Island in North Carolina. After realizing they needed more supplies, John White returned to England for supplies and money. (1/2)

Love living in a world where one has to Photoshop a woman who fights against rape onto the Time "Person of the Year" 2024 because they instead decided to make a rapist the person of the year.

🗃️ I think the proper term is "Homunculus of the Year". #politics

In 1750 BCE, what is possibly history's oldest customer complaint was etched into a stone tablet. A man named Nanni bought copper from Ea-Nasir, who was apparently known for selling poor quality copper while passing it off as good. Other complaints have also been found in what may be Nasir' house 🗃️

The past few weeks I've been busy with schoolwork and real life, so I haven't been able to post much historical facts on here. Instead, take this academia meme that I think we all can relate to. #history 🗃️

POV: We're in the middle of history class and you accuse me of using AI right in front of our professor (actually happened) (I would rather die than use AI on my papers) 🗃️

I am falling to pressure from my friends to post pictures of my pet rats. This is Agnes, named after Black Agnes mentioned previously on my page 😌 #history 🗃️

My first post about Rangers Impartial List did really well, and every person I show it to irl loves it. I've been inspired to make a modern day translation and a YouTube video analysis of the piece. Because who needs to actually do their homework, right? Be on the lookout for more 😉 #history 🗃️

While researching the history of prostitution in Scotland, I came across the best document I have ever seen: Ranger's Impartial List of the Ladies of Pleasure in Edinburgh, published in 1775 by Encyclopedia Britannica editor James Tylter. Not PC at all, however, its profanity draws a laugh. #history
