You may be right, but I'm curious what a vote would show. It would be a total reset for the island: no debt, reliable power, removal of restrictions on the port. PR would prosper as a state. Sports pales in comparison.

I wonder if the result would be the same if statehood included $40 billion to retire Puerto Rico's debt and rebuild its infrastructure. We gave as much to Argentina to prop up its currency.
