Why would the same office deal with South Sudan and Sudan in 2025? They both have major problems, but quite different and separate from each other nowadays. They both have serious conflicts, but not the same.

The USAID funding was known to be less vulnerable to theft because it was targeted at the private and non-profit ngo sectors, with high accountability. Which is why it is doubly tragic that USAID is being destroyed.

It’s 984 pages, but we should have read it when we first had clear warnings it would be implemented if they won the election. Now we must fully understand it to know what is happening, and to know how to rebuild after this is over.
