Yeah you never really know for sure, but when I have some friends playtest a prototype and they think the mechanics and controls are too complicated to use and simplifying it would compromise the core concept, it might be time take note of what I learned and move onto the next project.

Yeah it all comes down to what you're looking to get out of the experience. I've had projects that ended up not being commercially viable or just didn't work, but where I learned a ton while making them.

I feel like there's always that urge to push boundaries. Like sure I could make a rehash of an existing game or genre, but what challenge can I push through to make it something special? I guess that's a benefit of experience is knowing which of those fights are winnable or are fool's errands.

Hello! It's been about 18 months of nights and weekends work. The original spark that kicked it off was the thought, "what if the Zelda 4 Swords games were pvp?" A whole bunch of scope creep later and here we are! 😄
