I had a glorious time at #4C25 learning things and seeing people and remembering the power that scholars and teachers of writing have. Hopefully we’ll be able to hang in Cleveland next year!

I would like to see a panel about the best classroom shenanigans people have ever gotten up to. #4C25

Don't curse the darkness. Go to a conference and curse the darkness with a bunch of your colleagues. #4C25

I'm not presenting about romance at #4C25, BUT, as I'm working on my newest mini-tome (Sex and Solidarity!), I have something to say: solidarity is sexy. Don't be a creep about it, but show solidarity with folks in academia who have less power than you do. Ask them what they need to work and thrive.

If you hear feral screaming in the halls of the convention center, that's just me either being very enthusiastic about a talk I just attended or tackling a theory bro and making him appreciate intersectional feminist rhetorics. #4C25

Why yes, I will be at #4C25. No new releases, I’m sorry to say, but I’ll do my best to bring a mischievous sense of delight to the conference.

The end of the term means I'm back on my bullshit and dreaming up my next novelette: Mated to the Mathematician. A math prof who's deeply embarrassed about being a werewolf? Check. A writing studies prof who likes sitting next to him during meetings because he's warm? Check. Shenanigans? Definitely.

University admins have been talking about looming enrollment declines but I have to admit I didn’t think it’d be because they were going to arrest the students.

My love of internal conflict cannot be overstated. It is eternal. It is pure. Gimme gimme gimme. (This brought to you by me mainlining Kate Clayborn and Mary Balogh simultaneously.)

I'm reading The Other Side of Disappearing, and can we talk about Kate Clayborn is the absolute champion of making you really feel what I can only describe as "ethical yeesh"? Please, someone with better words than me help me out. #Romancelandia

67. Considering the cosy turn in SFF: who gets to be comforted?
If you don’t have the contrast of something bitter, sweetness can be very one-note. But bitterness, or even seriousness, to excess also becomes a form of monotony.

Ravished by Reviewer 2 is now available on Kindle! Bezos doesn’t let you set the price at $0, so I’m donating the cover price of all purchases this weekend to the #4C24 fund for contingent faculty.
