In 2024, 42,298 were children, sleeping in a shelter. Just stop and think about that for a moment. From 2023 – 2024 there were 912,064 children in the New York City Public school system. So roughly 5% of the of the entire NYC school system were sleeping in shelters last year. This is just wrong!
