Well, I spent most of the week after Christmas sick as a dog, but I’m (mostly) recovered now and excited to be back in Seattle starting tomorrow.

2025 is gonna be a good year, I can feel it.

turns out writing efficient, thread-safe data structures is hard

a client hired me to write unit tests for one module in their monolith. but I love refactoring, so I ended up optimizing a few of their hot paths and reduced their average memory allocations by nearly 60%!
