My grandpa passed last evening. He was surrounded by family, everyone had a hand on him and telling how much we loved him as he faded away.
He got the ending he deserved. I wouldn’t be who I am today without him. He made the world a kinder place.
I love you Papa. Thank you for everything.

Instead of being species specific, I wanted to emulate more of the general visual elements of wood to make a passable illusion.
The base was prepped in studio and then colored in during a live painting session at Capitol Modern

Mimic 4 (2022) Based on the #CaliforniaRedwood I wanted to make something with a lot of texture and with some utility. The mirrors are reminiscent of the forest canopy, where bright sun passes through the crowns of trees.

Someone stole almost $225 from my business account 😭 I was going to use that money to make prints. I work part time and help caretake for my grandparents, but have been trying to save for my small business for a while. Called the bank and am waiting to see what will happen, here’s the #art.
