saw Crouching Tiger at a small theater in Boston. 10 pm show. winter. The movie started, and half the crowd left because they didn't know it would be subtitled. After watching that visual feast, I walked out into the snowfall on a quiet winter night.

Pressure from <insert choice of oversight here> to get things done quickly. Doing something *new*, even if they know it works better, will still have a learning/acceptance curve, and thus will need buy-in. This could also be interpreted by management as things being done "wrong" the whole time.

Anyone who believes that this reno will "only" cost $250M never followed T's stints in AC. This will top out closer to $1B once all is said and done. Not because it will cost that much, but because grifters gotta grift.

Ironic that it doesn't take you to any websites, as if they don't exist, yet without the sites, there would be much, much less to train AI on. Talk about "don't mind us while we steal all your content, don't let the door hit you in the webpage on the way out"

$ORCL pops. OpenAI owes a large portion of that RPO and doesn't have that cash. $NVDA -> OpenAI: here's a $100m. OpenAI pays $ORCL, $ORCL buys $NVDA chips. Humph. Around and around we go. At this point, the big players have so much $$$ they can just keep the party going no matter what.

I read the post and was taken back to being a 17 y/o in the early 90's. After school/weekends, I was the shift "manager" at a minimart with a sporting goods section in rural PA. We sold ammo. I was often the oldest person on the shift. Wild times. Just a teenager in charge of the ammo dept.
