Again, why would they back a non-member at all? If ND wants conference support, join a conference. If they want to maintain independence, don't expect conferences to support you. This isn't as hard as ND fans are making it.

ND football is not an ACC team. I don't see what the issue is here. I'd hope my conference is advocating for conference teams, not independent teams.
