Genuinely, unifying development like this was the best thing to ever happen to Nintendo and the various teams and studios under them. I can't imagine a world where they want to go back, and split things up again. It's just too much extra cost, complexity, and time, when they don't ever need to.

I think;
A) They can never, ever go back to doing dedicated home consoles ever again
and B) That's by far the best outcome, for both us and them
Consolidating development to one platform has allowed for a tremendous amount of focus and output power for games and updates, and reduced dev costs.

It trades the quick spin for a hop and slam. It does good damage if you can land hits with it, and not just to players.

I love that they added an automatic speed-up feature to sections like this.
I also love that, despite taking significantly less time, it feels no different to have to sit on your ass while another player soars down the lane for another couple thousand
