OPTRE and OPTRE:FC turns ArmA 3 into a very different game. Depending on the mods you pick (ArmA has a HUGE Steam workshop) you can make a hell of an experience. Seeing not only NPC's, but a dozen PLAYERS wearing this armor engaging hostile across a 40km x 40km map is something special.

I turned what could have been a TPK into a whole new quest line around first finding a way to get the dragon to let them go, then learn his past, gain his trust, and convince him to be their patron and friend.

TL;DR : I made one of my players' fav story lines out of surviving a near dragon TPK.

With an encounter with a red dragon going poorly, the party ranger (admittedly my rl wife who knows my style) took a chance and pleaded with the dragon to spare them. I dropped a hint the dragon had been merciful before, but was burned by the event. Luckily most of the party caught the hint...
