I've been using RenderDoc. Still trying to figure out how it works, but I've found that it's saying I don't have a vertex shader bound at draw.

Despite the fact I load my vertex shader successfully...

Obvious answer: I somehow fucked something up in my shader/render pipeline...

But I've been trying to figure out what for the past 4 hrs and I still have no clear answer lol

Probably C++ 14. It's got most of the creature comforts and things that I use regularly, but without some of the extra fluff of 20/23.

Also compiler support is basically universal for it, so you can take your pick.

Ahhh, I gotcha. Yeah, shouldn't be super hard to work your way over then.

C++ is just incredibly messy and idiosyncratic about stuff like ownership, lifetimes and copy/move semantics. And there's also about 5 ways to do everything in it too lol

Yeah, IDK lol

Depends on what you're working on TBH, like for the stuff I'm interested in, C++ is the de facto language.

If you're looking to get into systems languages, learn C first, then C++. CPP is just suuuch a fuckin' beast of a language if you're not used to systems stuff

Oh noooo, you want out? Should have thought about that before sitting where you did. It might be comfy, but that means a creature bigger than you will think the same~

TBH I think that if I learn another language it'll be Rust.

Partially because Rust seems cool and I've written JUST enough JS to know I don't wanna write any more >.>

Oh? What was that? I can't hear you from under there~

I beg to differ *Sits* 🥰
November 14, 2025 at 6:05 AM
(I do know a good bit of Python tho. I just don't like writing it lol)

Good news: C++ is infamous for being complicated and hard. And it also teaches basically all the important concepts in programming, and a bunch of stuff that those higher-level languages don't, like how to work with memory.

So learning anything else will be quite easy.

Let's test that theory >;3c

Hmmmm... On second thought, quite seat shaped <333
