Good software, then, is one that helps humans excel at humanity. It helps us tell stories. It helps us weave our thoughts into a tapestry of narrative. It helps us be human, not by taking away our gift and talent of humanity, but by helping it thrive.

I always feel weird responding to automatic greetings bc of this. Like I know it’s kind of like a scripted ritual, but it shouldn’t be—genuinely asking someone how they are is one of the few times we get to connect to and understand others

I get what you're saying, but oftentimes devs don't get to choose the language they work in. I have tried to lobby for a language change unsuccessfully many a times

I usually just start with an image of the language I'd be using and then add the dependencies I need to a RUN command on the Containerfile. Sometimes the dependencies (like uv for python) have their own image which is nice to skip that part.

Idk if this will affect Docker/Podman much, given how established they are in the Linux world, but it'll be nice to not have the ridiculous VM layer on Mac. Although, I wonder if they just created the reverse problem--if it's not using containerd runtime, can it translate to deployment on linux?
