Dehydration has brought out the sweetness and they've retained some colour.
I prefer them dried.

Picked up these Kissabel apples in the supermarket reduced section.
Not one I would grow, the flesh is a little on the chalky side and I prefer crisp and crunchy. But still a nice apple. 3 of them going into the dehydrator. See how they fair.

I've had mixed success, but mine are outside. Tried to overwinter them, but it didn't work & the next year I had loads of seedlings show up around the garden.

I believe they do better in pots than in the ground.

This is the one in the hanging basket which had bigger fruit that the one in the pot.

Excellent!
We have some growing in the field at the bottom of our street.
Absolutely covered in berries this year. A pain to pick, but I made some apple & sea buckthorn spread and also added some to white port to make a 'medicinal' winter drink.

First time I've picked & eaten it. I really like it.

I don't know if you do much baking and would be interested, but I made this last week.

Thinly sliced apples on the bottom. The top is a fluffy pancake mix made with oat flour and I added a carrot, nutmeg and sultanas.
Was perfect for breakfast (or any other time).

You'll be better at growing tomatoes than me so reckon you'll get better yields than I have.
But my yield off one plant it pretty good.

The fruits are sweet, but also have a good flavour. Skins aren't tough.

I discovered that the way to tell they're ripe is by the join in this photo.

If you're ramping up your tomato growing next year with all of that greenhouse space, I'd recommend Tomato Green Envy.

I'd also recommend not forgetting you've grown green tomatoes.
I couldn't understand why some of them had fallen off the stalks but were still green 🤦‍♂️😂

It is 😁
Like a lot of the plants, it's struggling a little with the lack of rain. The leaves are still glossy, but the fruits are looking a little dry.

Last year I made a fruit spread with the berries, some white alpine strawberries and a bit of apple. It was delicious.

I found this #leech in my garden the other day. First time I've seen one. I have a small pond, but that's at the other end of the garden
I'm guessing this is a sign of good biodiversity. Online search about leeches seems a bit biased against them
Anyone know a bit more about them?

No quite as bountiful as yours, but I harvested my first Grillers squash and Japanese wineberries of the season this morning. 😊

Never had this much germination success from a cyclamen seed pod.

These are from a white & purple indoor cyclamen I bought in a reduced section.

Hoping the seedlings thrive and I get to see what kind of flower they produce.

Not sure how long I'll have to wait. Previous attempts didn't survive.

Weiss nicht wie die auf deutsch heissen. Weisse Alperdbeeren? (White Alpine Strawberries)
Vor 3 tagen geernt. Später im Saison werden die besser schmecken aber sind schon gut genug.

Well. That was a good turnaround time. Let's see if they deliver. 🤞

@littlegreentip1.bsky.social That rain you had recently. Could you let me know where you sent your request to please? I'd like to apply for some to be sent over here.

We were promised rain a few days ago but it didn't show up. My water tank is getting low. A good, nighttime downpour would be nice.

Bei mir im Garten sind Papaver cambricum (Welsh Poppy auf englisch).
Ich mag sie so sehr 😍

I don't mean to brag, but I have a whole 2 pear fruitlets on my mini pear!

It flowered the past couple of years and nothing set, but this year 2 have set.

I might get zero fruit out of it, but it's still progress. I'll take it!

All is not lost! I mean, it's not exactly a win, but at least the crown is still alive.

I reckon I might be another 2 years away from being able to harvest anything from this. Last year only a frond came up. So it is progress and it is pretty perfectly formed.

That answers my earlier question 😊

I've just been out and picked all of this. Smells amazing.
