A live trap is sitting on a cement pad behind a stinkless outhouse. The black chimney that draws the smell out of the vault through solar heating is adjacent to the trap. Fall leaves are scattered about and there's a grove of naked aspen standing about chatting.

More progress in the Elko Community Garden :) got a path leveled and mulched and a new bed measured in and leveled among other shoulder season tasks
A 15ft raised garden bed with a mulched walkway next to it. There is cardboard peeking out along one edge of the mulch indicating it was used as weed barrier. A gentleman is bent over working on something in the mid ground. Closer to the camera is a raised bed with cardboard lining the bottom to kill weeds. A shovel land against the bed to the left and a yellow ocher wheelbarrow is parked to the right. There is a hedge row of trees in the back ground with a church peeking over it. The sky is mostly cloudy but bright white ones with slivers of cornflower sky.

Dear NVEnergy: this is excessive. I know the power is out, I couldn't make breakfast and had to use the emergency release on the garage door to go to work.

Well, the community garden is looking better, still an overabundance of weeds.
My personal garden bed with three types of tomatoes and two bell peppers. There is awalking onion splooted out trying to spread all over my garden bed. A cellphone photo of a water lily blooming in my trough. It used to be a koi pool, now it's a dog/deer water dish.
A color changing water lily is floating open on bug carcass speckled green water. The petals are pink with hints of yellow at the tips of a few. Add it opens over the next few days or will get yellower and yellower. The insides of the flower are bright yellow tentacles sticking out of the middle of the blossom. The shadow of the bloom is newly perfect and comes down the image towards the viewer. There are two purple tinged lilypads beyond the bloom. In the shadow you can see the stem descending into the depth.

Warm springs is bfe. There's a couple forest service campgrounds to the north but if you're going to drive that far up, may as well go to tonopah and have AC.

Got a geobin set up at the #elkocommunitygarden now to see if I can get it to come up to temperature to run a hot compost. 246 gallons is the max capacity, we're a little shy.
A 3ft tall dark green 4ft across wrap with holes punched in it so that there is good airflow is holding in a grundle of weeds, grass clippings and chicken poo that are about to become hot compost if we did it right. There is a garden hose in the foreground from watering it up. The secret to composing in the desert is watering it.

It annoys the crap out of me now, but I suspect when she can't do it anymore, I'll miss it.
A brown dog jumping up and down on her hind legs to get let back in at a sliding glass door. She's trying to get paw prints as high as possible. Her black dog friend is standing on all 4 next to her with his pink and black tongue out. Behind them is green and curing grass and plants. There's a weber grill behind brown dog's butt, its currently housing a wasp nest instead of tasty meats (the grill, not the dog's backend- though some of her farts are quite tear inducing).

Screen shot of the merlin bird app recording bird song. It shows that it's detected great-tailed grackle, american robin (not me this time), eurasian collared-dove, and house sparrows. House sparrow is currently highlighted and the blue detection light is showing indicating they are currently yacking up a storm (there are fledglings hustling their parents nearby).
