CatGPT: woefully inefficient, makes stuff up all the time like "I'm hungry" when he's just eaten. Useful mostly for holding headphone wires in place.

The first Brazilian president after the military dictatorship famously got Weekend at Bernies'd because they needed to protect a fledgling democracy. Trump is gonna get Weekend at Bernies'd for...what? A boost to the memecoin?

Getting increasingly annoyed at Netflix every time I log in and see the Harriet Tubman biopic advertised with an image of Joe Alwyn, making it look like some pound shop knockoff of Orlando.

Two days ago, I woke up in the morning to find my right havaina completely missing, absolutely nowhere to be seen in the flat. The primary suspect is pictured but he has thus far proven resistant to questioning.

A sleeping position must be ideal. It has to squish, a little bit

Sometimes, when a human is distracted, it is good to sneak up behind them and set up a trap, so they almost trip over you when they turn around

Cats are ideally suited to management roles, because they do nothing and like to keep it that way.

One of the things I love about Brasil is that every gig I go to has someone doing sign language interpretation on the side. What a wonderful job! This was a free gig!

Kieślowski is one of my biggest blind spots (have only seen Double Life of Veronique). Started rectifying that by watching Camera Buff (1978). No actual jokes in it, sure, but absolutely one of the funniest films I've ever seen. Man gets 8mm camera to film birth of his daughter and gets asked by...

Spent the day mooching around Brasilia, a city built as close as anything to an imagined utopia. A beautiful city born out of a belief in human creativity and moral values. There are cracks aplenty of course, but this kind of futuro-optimism seems hard to imagine now. Who bothers with hope?

Put a gun to my head and I might just declare Žika Pavlović's run of 6 films from 1965-1970 as the greatest run of films ever. The raw, dark heart of a particularly Yugoslav kind of nihilism, but one whose hopelessness and self-hatred is its own form of liberation.
