I had dinner with a group of friends on Friday night. Without exception we are all only taking the stat holidays off work. I might take an extra day at the end of January but that’s it. Someone has to keep working to enable these tossers to swan about for the entire summer.

Thanks. I thought I’d better have a tree this year as I’ll have the family here on Christmas Day. Have to admit it does make it smell like Christmas. The tree that is - not the bubbles 😅

I’m decorating the Christmas tree - first one I have had in 4 years- so just poured myself a glass of bubbles to help me on my way. Complete with a strawberry.

Part of my deck is covered with a red carpet like your first photo. I can’t bring myself to sweep it away. It really is rather beautiful.

Mine too. Such a short season so I intend to eat as many as possible over the next few weeks.

Sadly our local PYO blueberries changed hands a couple of years ago and the new owners closed it down. Haven’t yet located another one to go to.

I’ve just come in from putting my washing on the line - right beside my blueberry bushes. I’m with the young one - eat as many as you can, blueberries are the best.

No time as yet to have done anything about Christmas decorations but will get them sorted in the next few days.

I had my first northern hemisphere Christmas two years ago. It was freezing cold and grim. The lights were amazing but didn’t make up for the lack of berries for Christmas dessert and a walk on the beach.

Bubbles are best. And turning 50 definitely deserves bubbles. I like mine with a strawberry quietly marinating. Very yummy once the bubbles have been quaffed.
