Maybe its me, but the line that Trump is trying to stop "drug cartels" with its murderous piracy in the Caribbean and angling for a war with Venezuela seems like such obvious bullshit that no one really believes it. Polls show its unpopular and people arent buying it. Its obviously all about oil

For the Iraq War, huge efforts were put into convincing the gullible that there were WMDs and we were "spreading democracy" not that it was a war about what it was really about, oil. But now with the gathering war against Venezuela it doesnt feel like the propagandists' hearts are in it.

During the first cold war there was this idea it was the "free world" vs "totalitarianism." Now, as the US confronts a rising China, theres barely any ideological justification. Its purely that they are an imperial competitor for markets and we dont want anyone else to get to the top of the heap.

Yeah this seems uninspired hairsplitting and wreckerism. "Oh im totally ok with taxing the rich and universal programs, but only if they do it in this precise way and jumps through exactly my prescribed hoops to do so." Serious people dont waste time with such pedantictry

But the idea that taxing the rich and corporations "creates zero jobs" is just factually false and kind of undermines his credibility. Universal pre-k creates quite a lot of jobs. All of these universal government services create job. Probably a lot more socially useful jobs than investment bankers

Meh. This is still just some neoliberal swill. NYC has and needs higher taxes because the infrastructure and services are superior to that of NJ. If you want your workforce to spend an hour on the Turnpike trying to get to Hoboken, knock yourself out. You get what you pay for
