Happy First Contact Day! In honour of the day I'm watching Star Trek:First Contact for the first time in years. It's a lovely combination of goofy nonsense and solid science fiction. In that, it's a perfect representation of Star Trek as a whole.

I found out yesterday that Hershey is discontinuing the cherry blossom. I probably haven't eaten one in 50 years, but I instantly felt a pang of sadness and loss.
