they won't do those things because it would mean spending money. the trick with these ghouls is everything comes at no cost for them. when they invest is solely to make the money back or earn more. when they talk about shooting babies into the sun it's other investors paying for it not them

aka feudalism. you can see amazon (or steam, or youtube) in the same way: they own the "land" so any activity within generates revenue for them. anything tech does these days is based on this principle

it's never been anything for the present moment really, that's not what he chased. they built the infrastructure just in the case thirty years from now everybody uses vr to hang out, have meetings, go shopping etc., so when (if) we ever get to that future everybody has to pay rent to them
