Personally I support Chicago annexing everywhere from Rockford to Cairo. The downstate hicks can't complain about all their money going to Cook county if the whole state is all Cook county

I will be your biggest supporter if you wanna run on a platform of doing that. I've only been in the state since 2021 so I feel pretty ignorant about it but what is your opinion on reducing the massive amount of local government positions and consolidating them I see mentioned around?

Like my dream last year was refi when rates drop and now even if they magically dropped to 2% again I'd be right back where we started with taxes and the (slower) increase in insurance costs.

Oh god no I grew up there you couldn't pay me enough to move back lol. It's just that property taxes in Illinois are basically making it impossible for middle class people to keep up with the cost of housing in the long term.
