Since the beginning of this semester I've been using the GIMP 3.0 RC releases and its been great. For the stuff I do in terms of photo editing (minor color changes, selecting parts of an image), GIMP 3 has been great and doesn't require me to sell my soul to a user-hostile platform

The official instructions actually talk about modifying the Windows install media just to set it up without internet.

Crazy how Linux is technically easier to run on this than Windows, especially considering that all the hardware drivers are included in the Linux kernel, so it works 100% ootb.

So it actually arrived on Monday lol.
Anyway, I've been using this laptop all week (Framework 13, AMD Ryzen 7 7840U, 2.8K display), been absolutely great.

See this is why anti-piracy and DRM shams like Denuvo are absolute garbage. I spent hours trying to get Sonic Frontiers' mod loader working on my Steam Deck again, apparently doing some stuff I did made the game's DRM think I installed it multiple times, now I can't play the fucking game I bought

Made this like... a week or two ago? Didn't bother to post it anywhere outside of Discord and private DMs (until now!)

I actually set myself aside around 2 hours a night to work on productive/creative stuff (such as this), it actually boosted my mood quite abit.

So I decided to program a Discord bot, mostly out of boredom and to do some programming that isn't school related.

The bot can

- Tell me the weather for 2 locations
- Send a random photo of my cats
- Respond with a gif when someone says "Yippee"
