I’m Red Meat 🥩. Meaty Man Graps. He/Him. 24. Vader clears your favs.
The end of this phase (particularly with the F4) so we can move onto the Mutants and people are fully excited for it!

The discussion, not the legacy people coming back. ESPECIALLY with it all revolving around the Multiverse. It just seems desperate because of the MCU perception. Chris Evans was always gonna come back. RDJ was always gonna come back. I’m sure the others will be as well. I’m just hoping they nail -

Don’t get me wrong, the MCU hate overall isn’t really justified. I’ve enjoyed most of the films put out, but the swings in quality are obvious. The shows are very much not fantastic for the most part. Too much padding, not enough consistent world building and character development. That should be -

Post Endgame that people care about. Obviously I think a LOT of things have had to change, between Majors whole debacle and Chadwick’s tragic passing, so many pieces have had to move around and make things clunky. That still to me doesn’t really excuse the lack of quality of projects. -

And the obvious answer was always gonna be the natural one. You had the entire MCU in 1 movie, now you attempt to get every Marvel legacy character that’s appeared on screen in 1 movie. That was always the progression path we were on. The far bigger issue is the lack of established new characters -

Overall, this show still holds up for me as one of the best NXT shows of all time and it really kicks off my favorite era of wrestling tv I’ve seen in full, and some of my fondest wrestling memories.

A 14 year old horror fan with 0 prior knowledge to the painted Prince Devitt alters, this was the coolest shit ever at the time. Obviously the Demon is played out now and he never really wrestled any different, but that shit never mattered to me. Match is fine, but the entrance is all that matters.

The last truly memorable thing was the debut of the Demon alter for Balor. A lot can be said about the handling of KENTA coming into WWE and how poor it was, but Balor came in and immediately looked and felt like the fucking MAN and completely overshadowed any momentum Hideo had. For me though, as -

The Tag title match is harmless fun, and Corbin’s squashes were sick at the time. I vividly remember seeing the End of Days for the first time and thinking it was the coolest move I’d ever seen.

Important to the perception of women’s wrestling they’ve been. Speaking strictly for myself, they were the first exposure I had to women actually having workrate, amazing matches. I still believe Sasha vs. Bayley is the best NXT match of all time, or at least in the top 2-3. Incredible work.

The rest of the show tends to be forgotten some, but it’s a blast. Charlotte and Sasha Banks have a wonderful co-main that showed their amazing chemistry together with the “women’s revolution” on the horizon. The horsewomen get sorta shit on now for some reason, but it can’t be understated how -

The angle afterwards will forever resonate with me. Kevin Owens debut was about as perfect as it could possibly be, with the sick opening match and then the immediate heartbreak with his heel turn by the end of the show.

Still resonates with me 10 years later. Was a joy rewatching the show with the @latenightgrin.com crew last night and seeing others still feel the same seeing that Full Sail crowd be so invested in one singular character. Sami is absolutely one of the all time great baby faces and his moment and -

Sami Zayn’s rise to the NXT title. I had gotten the network in August and immediately got hooked on NXT. I watched every episode there was and was fully caught up within a week. I love that era of NXT so much, and Sami is the crux of it all. It’s such a simple and beautiful story they told that -
