Google just brought this pic up of me, 10 years ago today. I loved my red & green hair!

I also loved that cleaver necklace but I lost it when the chain broke 😭

Oooooooo yeah! And there's still quite a bit of December to go... I just have to remember to set the bloody watch off before I start 😂Quite a good deal of it was done in the last 7 days 😂

I had NO idea the lock function worked with the engine off. Lesson learned.

Here's the miniature beast of burden that ALMOST made me a believer of Friday 13th 😂

This is what I call the Efford Fort Massive! 😂 Not that you can tell in the December morning gloom, but the birds in these trees are ... PARAKEETS!

I've been doing AAAALLLL sorts of things today that are mainly boring ... BUT! the roasted veggie soup (which is a delightful shade of magenta, thanks beetroot & red/ orange veg) is not in the slightest bit boring 😋🖤😋

Every year, I go to Seco Lounge on 22nd January to toast the almost forgotten man:

And his workplace was the bakery building which today houses Seco Lounge (which I love!) 🥰 see first pic & look at the long building on the left, that's the one!

Attwood was in the Commissariate & Transport Corps, stationed at Rorke's Drift when, on 22nd January 1879, the battle started. Attwood was awarded the DCM for his efforts in protecting the injured during the battle. It would be years before his burial site was commemorated again:

First up is Efford Crematorium. Here, tucked away from the rest of the graves is an area lined with gravestones. This is a communal grave, created when a cemetery in Milehouse was closed after WWII. The people buried here were moved because they no longer had either living family or an advocate...

Since we all love a bit of Hampton Court Palace, here's a few more snaps of me looking up during my visit a few years ago!

As a 5 foot tall woman, I have to look up at everyone & everything 😂
December 1, 2024 at 5:22 PM
I do it everywhere! I got my husband to do the same 😂 we laid there for several minutes, taking it all in. I went on a wet, January day, so it was out of typical tourist season & we practically had it all to ourselves!

From yesterday's walk through the NT's Saltram House grounds 🥰

Saltram is an interesting place. It is a huge, seemingly Georgian house. However, just off the kitchen (if you look carefully), you can see the architecture of a much earlier building. Tudor elements still remain 🥰

Lydford Castle is situated on the north-west edge of Dartmoor. It was used as not only as the centre for administrating local laws, but also as a prison. The injustices handed down to transgressors became known as 'Lydford Law' & this term was used widely for judicial cruelty. #history

Remembering that time I went to Hampton Court Palace and immediately lay on the floor in the Great Hall to take a photo. Staff member rushed over to see if I was alright! 😂😅

I guess many people didn't do it at that time!
